New Delhi: The Income Tax Department has launched a new version of its national website www.incometaxindia.gov.in with a user-friendly interface, enhanced features, and new modules. The website was inaugurated by Nitin Gupta, Chairman, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) at the ‘Chintan Shivir’ organized by the Directorate of Income Tax (Systems) in Udaipur on Saturday.

The website aims to improve the experience of taxpayers and keep pace with new technology. It provides a comprehensive source of tax and related information. It allows users to access direct tax laws, allied acts, rules, income tax circulars, and notifications, all linked and cross-referenced. The website also has a ‘Taxpayer Services Module’ that offers various tax tools to help taxpayers file their income tax returns.

The website has been redesigned with a mobile-responsive layout and a ‘Mega Menu’ for content with new features and functionality. The website also guides the visitors through a virtual tour and new button indicators to explain the new features. The website enables users to compare different Acts, Sections, Rules and Tax Treaties. It also tags all relevant content with Income Tax sections for easy navigation. Moreover, the website has a dynamic due date alert feature that shows reverse countdown, tooltips, and links to relevant portals to help taxpayers comply with ease.
