New Delhi: If you are negligent while driving, then the traffic police can hand you a challan of one lakh rupees. So drive responsibly on the road. For not following the traffic rules, your challan of more than Rs 1.41 lakh can be deducted under the new Motor Vehicle Act. This has happened before after the implementation of the New Motor Vehicles Act-2019.

Under the new rules, if you violate the traffic rules while driving a truck, then a challan of Rs 1,41,700 may have to be paid. In September 2019, a challan of Rs 1,41,700 was deducted for a truck from Rajasthan in Delhi due to overloading. Later the truck owner went to Rohini court and submitted the challan. Such an incident should not happen to you too, so take special care of traffic rules while driving.

See how much fine for violation of which rule
If you drive a truck, overloading can attract a fine of Rs 5,000. In the absence of a registration certificate, a challan of Rs 10,000, for not having a fitness certificate, Rs 10,000, for permit violation, Rs 10,000 can be deducted. Apart from this, a fine of Rs 4,000 for non-insurance, Rs 10,000 for not having a pollution certificate, and Rs 20,000 for carrying construction material without covering. With this, the traffic police can deduct a challan of Rs 20,000 for overloading. After this, the more the tonne of goods, the more he will be fined Rs 2,000.

2,00,500 challan was cut
After the implementation of the new rule, Delhi Police had issued a challan of Rs 2 lakh 500 to a person named Ram Kishan. This included Rs 56,000 for overloading. A fine of Rs 5,000 was imposed for not having a driving license, Rs 10,000 for a registration certificate, Rs 10,000 for permit violation, Rs 4,000 for insurance, Rs 10,000 for a pollution certificate. Apart from this, a challan of Rs 20,000 for carrying construction material without cover and Rs 1,000 for not wearing a seat belt was challenged. In this way, the traffic police handed him a challan of Rs 2,00,500. The driver had rescued the truck after paying the fine in the Rohini court.
