After this, he started having problems with kidney and blood pressure. he was then placed on ventilators. Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister Chetan Chauhan, who represents India in cricket, is in critical condition. In the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, Chauhan has the Ministry of Military Welfare, Home Guards, PRD, and Civil Defense. Chetan Chauhan has also been a BJP MP from Amroha. 73-year-old Chetan Chauhan played 40 Test matches and 7 ODIs for India. Till last year he was Sports Minister of UP, but later he was given the second ministry. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party and has also been a Lok Sabha MP twice.
Chetan Chauhan made his Test debut for India against New Zealand in 1969. In his Test career, he had scored 2084 runs at an average of 31.57. He has no century to his name in the Test cricket while he scored 16 half-centuries. Apart from this, he scored a total of 153 runs in 7 ODIs for India.
Chetan Chauhan played India’s last match against New Zealand in 1981. After this tour, Chauhan was dropped from the team and he never got a chance to play for India again. His record in home matches was quite impressive and he scored more than 11 thousand runs in 179 first class matches at an average of 40.22.
He also scored 21 centuries and 59 fifties in home matches. He was awarded the Arjuna Award in 1981 and after that he switched to politics. He also became MP by winning the Lok Sabha elections twice in 1991 and 1998 on a BJP ticket.
