New Delhi: The notification for the Civil Services Preliminary Examination-2121 of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has been released. According to the notification, recruitment of 822 posts of reputed services like Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Forest Service will be done through this examination. Candidates can apply by going to upsconline.nic.in.

Minimum educational qualification-
For Civil Services – Graduation degree should be in any discipline. Candidates involved in the final year examination of the graduation course can also apply. Such candidates will have to provide proof of graduation degree while filling the civil service (main examination) form.

Indian Forest Service- Degree of Graduation in any of Veterinary Science, Botany, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Zoology or Agricultural Science, Forestry or Engineering from a recognized institute.

Application fee – Rs 100. SC, ST, Physically challenged and female candidates do not have to pay any fee.

Age Limit – The minimum age of the candidate should be 21 years and maximum 32 years. The maximum age limit is three years for OBC category candidates, five years for SC / ST and ten years for physically challenged category candidates.

Number of opportunities – The maximum number of total opportunities for appearing in the examination is fixed at 6. OBC candidates will be given 9 opportunities and there is no limit on the number of opportunities for SC / ST candidates.

Withdrawal of application
Candidates can withdraw the applications from 31 March 2021 to 06 April 2021 till 6 pm. The request to withdraw the application after this deadline will not be accepted.

Selection Process

There are three stages of UPSC exam. First of all, there will be a pre exam. After that there is main examination and interview. Final merit list is made on the basis of performance in interview and main exam. The main exam is of 1750 marks and the interview is of 275 marks.
