New Delhi: The demand of people for CNG cars is increasing continuously. To meet this demand, companies are also offering models of their vehicles with company-fitted CNG kits. Among them, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is the most popular car. Now to compete with this, Kia is preparing to launch a CNG variant of its flagship model Carens. The company has started testing this variant and it is believed that before Diwali, the company can launch it in the market.
The petrol version of the carens was liked by the people even earlier. Its looks and features are good, but now it is being launched in the CNG option with better mileage. Even before the launch, discussions have started regarding this vehicle.
how is the engine
- The car is powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol engine.
- This engine generates 140 PS of power and 242 Nm of torque.
- The CNG model will have a 6-speed manual gearbox.
- The upcoming petrol variant also has the option of a 7-speed TCT transmission.
19 variants are already available
There are premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury Plus levels of Kia Cars with a total of 19 variants. The starting price of cars starts from Rs 9.60 lakh and goes up to Rs 17.70 lakh (ex-showroom). According to sources, the CNG variant of Carens will be priced around Rs 12 lakh. At the same time, the price of Maruti Ertiga CNG ranges from Rs 10.50 lakh to Rs 11.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
