Harmanpreet Singh and Shamsher Singh scored one goal each. Despite this victory, the Indian team could not directly reach the quarterfinals. Now India will have to play a cross-over match.

At one point it seemed that India would easily win this match, but Wales scored two goals within two minutes and pushed the hosts to the back foot.

Both of Wales’ goals came through penalty corners. Gareth Furlong scored in the 42nd minute. Just two minutes after this, ie in the 44th minute, another goal came. After the 2-2 draw, the battle ahead had become even more exciting. Then Akashdeep gave India the lead in the 45th minute with a brilliant field goal. Team India did not stop here. Captain Harmanpreet Singh converted the penalty corner in the 59th minute.
