Poor welfare scheme
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Prime Minister Garib Kalyan Yojana, which was launched for just three months to extend the accidentally declared national lockdown, and the poor people affected by the Coronavirus outbreak, was subsequently extended for five months. In April, May, and June the ration and cash is given to the poor were extended to the month of November in view of the festivals. Under this, the poor got 5 kg of grain and 1 kg of a gram per month absolutely free.
Poor welfare employment campaign
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Garib Kalyan Rojgar Abhiyan in June to empower the migrant laborers who returned to their home state and provide them a livelihood during the lockdown imposed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The campaign was carried out in a 125-day mission mode, under which 25 different types of jobs were conducted at a rapid pace to provide employment to migrant workers. This includes rural housing for the poor, plantation, provision of drinking water through Jal Jeevan Mission and construction work of Panchayat Bhawan, community toilets, rural mandis, rural roads, animal sheds, and Anganwadi buildings.
Fiber plan till home
The Ghar Tak Fiber Scheme is one of the ambitious schemes of the Government of India. The scheme started on 21 September 2020. During this time the Prime Minister had said that all 45945 villages of Bihar will be connected through the high-speed optical fiber. The scheme is being implemented by the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Under this scheme, a village or gram panchayat will be connected to Bharat Net.
E-Sanjeevani Medicine Platform
Telemedicine service platform ‘e-Sanjeevani’ of the Union Ministry of Health provides two types of telemedicine services. The first is between doctor to doctor through e-Sanjeevani and the second, between patient and doctor through e-Sanjeevani. According to the Ministry of Health, this platform has provided essential health care at a time of crisis when the traditional pharmaceutical medium is considered risky due to the Covid-19 epidemic. The objective of this service is to implement tele-counseling in all one and a half lakh health and wellness centers by December 2022. The Health Ministry said in a statement that the patients of Isenjivani are used in 550 districts of the country. According to the statement, 10 percent of the users of eSanjeevani are 60 years or older while a quarter of the patients have used this facility more than once.
New education policy
The pattern of education policy changed in India after 34 years with the adoption of the new education policy. In the new education policy, a new curriculum structure of 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 will be implemented instead of the 10 + 2 structure of the school curriculum. Along with this, changes in education policy will be given due attention to mother tongue and vernacular. The government has now recommended the inclusion of Indian languages from school education to higher education to protect, develop, and strengthen all Indian languages. Along with this, there is talk of setting up a National Institute for all Indian and Prakrit languages, the Indian Institute of Translation and Interpretation (IITI).
National Digital Health Mission
The National Digital Health Mission was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of 74th Independence Day. Under this mission, a draft has been prepared to ensure the safety of people’s health information. Every person registered in this will get a free health ID from which he can control his own confidential information. This draft also states that no information can be obtained without the permission of the person. It is believed that the capacity and transparency of health services will be increased through this mission. Apart from this, India can also move towards achieving the goal of the United Nations Global Health Coverage. Along with this, doctors and health facilities will also be registered. Under the Health Facility Registry, all hospitals, clinical labs will be able to connect and get unique IDs.
PM Swanidhi Scheme
After the corona killing, the government announced to launch the PM Swanidhi scheme this year. The benefit of this scheme will be given to those who live in livelihood by setting up street vendors and small shops. Its purpose is to give cheaper loans to those who operate street-trails and small shops. The government has named it PM Swanidhi or PM Street Vendors Self-Reliant Fund. Under this scheme, 5 million street vendors can take loans. The rate of interest on the loan taken will also be lower. For this scheme, the government has given Rs 5000 crore
