Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday expressed disappointment over the Supreme Court’s decision to dissolve the National Assembly and term Prime Minister Khan’s advice to President Arif Alvi as unconstitutional. In his address to the nation, he expressed regret over the court’s decision and said that why the court did not see the matter of foreign conspiracy, the court should have seen the evidence.

A top leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf said that ‘captain’ Imran Khan will make an “important announcement” on Friday and will never let the country down. Khan will address the nation a day after the country’s Supreme Court decision in which he was asked to face a no-confidence motion against him.

Pakistan’s Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said Khan would make an “important announcement” in his address to the nation, which will be broadcast on Friday night, Dawn newspaper reported. According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Javed Khan, Khan is well aware of how to deal with the challenges that come his way.

Required support to opposition parties
The opposition parties need the support of 172 members in the 342-member House to oust Prime Minister Khan and have already shown the support of more than the required numbers. The Express Tribune reported that Khan’s party has decided to oppose the new government on every platform. Khan is now likely to be the first prime minister in Pakistan’s history to be removed from power through a no-confidence motion, the news said.

The Supreme Court has also termed as unconstitutional the advice given by Prime Minister Khan to President Arif Alvi to dissolve the National Assembly. The court has ordered the Speaker (Speaker) of the National Assembly to conduct the vote on the no-confidence motion on April 9 (local time) at 10 am. It has ordered that if the no-confidence motion is passed, a new prime minister should be elected.
