IMD issued warning regarding cyclone ‘Sitrang’, may wreak havoc today and tomorrow

Kolkata: Updates of cyclonic storm ‘Sitrang’ are being received from time to time by the Indian Meteorological Department. According to the Meteorological (IMD) Department, now this cyclonic storm (Cyclone Sitrang) is on Monday morning i.e. today around 3. It is located approximately 520 km south of Sagar Island and 670 km southwest of Barisal in Bangladesh.

Significantly, it is very likely to move northeastwards and intensify into a severe cyclonic storm in the next 12 hours. Due to this heavy rain may occur in some coastal parts of the country on Monday and Tuesday. However, the Meteorological Department had already warned that this cyclone would prevail for the next two days. Getting stronger, it will turn into a deep depression on October 24.

Whereas on October 25 it can turn into a deep cyclone. Its impact has been estimated to be on the border of West Bengal, Odisha, and Bangladesh. Along with this, the fishermen have also been warned by issuing an alert that they should not go into the sea till the danger of a cyclone.
