IIT students are sitting for home examination, IIM is also teaching online lesson

Indore: Due to the outbreak of this epidemic in Indore, which is among the worst affected districts of Kovid-19 in the country, most of the students of top educational institutions like IITs and IIMs have to leave the hostels and stay in their homes in different states. As a result, the academic landscape of these institutions has changed completely and the nature of studies from examinations to examinations has gone online. Sunil Kumar, spokesperson of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Indore said that for the first time in the 11-year history of the institute, online examinations are being conducted under the open book system. This series of examinations has started from Sunday (28 June) which will run till July 6.

He said, “Currently under the Open Book Examination System only B.Tech. As many as 255 students from the last semester are taking the exam as they have already been placed in different companies. In such a situation, we want them to start the job on the scheduled date after appearing in the exam. ” The spokesperson said that under the Open Book Examination System, students of IIT Indore are being sent question papers through online, which they are sitting on their home or any other place and solving them on paper within the stipulated time of about four hours. Later, after scanning these written pages, they are submitting them in the form of answer book online to the institute.

He said, “In the examination conducted under the open book system, such questions are being asked, which cannot be directly answered by looking at the book or the notes.” Kumar told that B.Tech in IIT Indore. Final semester exams are usually held in April but this time due to the outbreak of Kovid-19, these exams are being delayed by two months. He also informed that online classes are being organized at IIT Indore from April 6 as part of measures to prevent epidemics. During this time, pre-recorded lectures are being broadcast along with direct lectures for the students. The spokesman said that online thesis has been submitted from IIT students of M.Tech and some other courses and their oral examination has also been taken online. Meanwhile, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) of Indore has also had to find online avenues to overcome the bottlenecks in its academic calendar due to Kovid-19.

IIM director Himanshu Rai said that due to the outbreak of the epidemic, online classes were started at the institute from mid-March. Examinations of some courses are also taken through online method. He said, “The students may have given these exams even while sitting in their house. But during this time he was instructed to keep the webcam on and on with his desktop or laptop continuously, so that we kept an eye on him. ” Rai also informed that the next academic session of IIM Indore will be started with the online method. For this a new learning management system will be introduced under which the quality of online classes will be increased with the help of better cameras and technology.

The IIM director, however, said, “Currently we have to adopt online method of teaching due to Kovid-19. But it is true that online classes can never replace actual classes. ” According to official information, a total of 4,615 patients of Kovid-19 have been found so far in Indore district. Of these, 222 patients died during treatment, while 3,415 people have recovered after treatment.
