Lucknow: After the inauguration of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, this temple has become one of the most prosperous temples in the country. Within a year of the inauguration of the Kashi Vishwanath corridor, there has been a huge increase in the income of the temple administration. While the income of the temple has increased more than five times in a single year, the business in Varanasi city has also got wings. Since the construction of the corridor, the number of pilgrims visiting Varanasi has increased manifold.

Devotees have donated more than Rs 100 crore in the very first year after the inauguration of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor in Varanasi. Within just one year, more than 7.35 crore devotees have visited Baba Vishwanath Dham. This number is more than 12 times than before. Apart from cash, devotees have also offered 60 kg gold, 10 kg silver, and 1,500 kg copper in the Kashi Vishwanath temple in the last year.

Donated more than Rs 50 crore in cash
The outer and inner walls of the sanctum sanctorum have been gilded using gold and copper given by the devotees. Devotees have donated more than Rs 50 crore in cash. 40 percent of the total donations received have come online. According to the figures released by the temple administration itself, there has been a 500 percent increase in income this year as compared to last year.

The tremendous increase in the number of tourists coming to Varanasi
It is noteworthy that in the last five years, the number of tourists coming to Varanasi has increased ten times. Since the end of the Corona crisis, there has been a significant increase in the number of foreign tourists visiting Varanasi. Statistics of the Department of Tourism show that in the year 2022, the number of Indian tourists reaching Varanasi in the month of July alone is 40.03 lakh, which is almost ten times more than 4.61 lakh in July 2017. This year, the number of tourists reaching Varanasi during Sawan and Dev Deepawali has created a record. The head scanning machines installed at the four entrances of the Kashi Vishwanath temple are used to count the visitors.

There will be an increase in the number of devotees
The tourism department of the state government says that after the completion of the beautification of Ganga ghats, increase in cruise services, and commencement of a helicopter tour facility, the number of devotees coming to Varanasi will further increase. After this, the income of Kashi Vishwanath temple is sure to increase even more. By next year, the projects of Tent City, Namo Ghat, and River Front in Varani will take shape. A state government spokesperson says that after the inauguration of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, a record increase in the number of tourists has been recorded. Apart from this, cleaning of the Ganga and Ghats, development of Gautam Buddha’s preaching place Sarnath, cruise in the Ganga, etc. have emerged as important factors in increasing tourists.
