New Delhi: Once again there has been a huge increase in the infection of coronavirus. In the last 24 hours, 20139 new cases have been found. While 38 patients died during this period. Compared to Wednesday, there has been an increase of about 20 percent in the number of new patients in a day. Not only this, more than 20 thousand daily cases have been reported in the country after about 145 days. Now the number of active patients has crossed 1 lakh 36 thousand across the country. While the daily positivity rate has gone up to 5.1%. According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health, 16,482 patients have been cured of the corona during the last 24 hours.
According to the data released by the Union Health Ministry at 8 am on Thursday, after the death of 38 more people due to infection in the country, the death toll increased to 5,25,557. The number of patients under treatment for Covid-19 in the country has increased to 1,36,076, which is 0.31 percent of the total cases. The number of active patients has increased by 3,619 in the last 24 hours. The national rate of recovery of patients is 98.49 percent.
Cases increased in Maharashtra
On Wednesday, 2575 more patients infected with the coronavirus were found in Maharashtra and 10 infected people died. The total number of infected in the state has gone up to 80,10,223, while the death toll has gone up to 1,48,001. On Tuesday, 2435 cases were found in the state and 13 people died due to Covid. In Mumbai, 383 new infections were found in the last 24 hours.
The speed is not stopping in Chhattisgarh
There have been 386 new cases of coronavirus infection in Chhattisgarh during the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of people affected by Covid-19 in the state has increased to 11,57,290 by Wednesday. No death of any patient infected with the coronavirus was recorded in the state on Wednesday.
Delhi’s condition
In the national capital Delhi, 490 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in a day. While three patients died of infection. The infection rate was recorded at 3.16 percent. After the arrival of new cases, the cases of infection in the national capital increased to 19,41,905, while the death toll rose to 26,288. A day ago, 15,495 samples were tested, in which these new cases were reported.
Horrifying figures from Odisha
With the arrival of 743 new cases of coronavirus infection in Odisha on Wednesday, the number of cases of the Covid-19 epidemic increased to 12,95,328. These are the highest cases of infection in about five months. The infection rate has increased from 3.48 percent to 4.03 percent. There are also 87 children among the infected. 303 cases of infection were reported in Khurda district, followed by 115 cases in Cuttack.
