New Delhi: Aadhar is very important for every Indian today. Aadhaar is required almost everywhere as identity proof. This is the most important document of our identity. Important information related to a person is recorded on an Aadhar card. Like date of birth, address, mobile number, etc.

Due to its widespread use, Aadhaar related frauds have also started increasing. In view of this, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the issuing body of Aadhaar, keeps advising Aadhaar users from time to time on how to keep it safe.

Now UIDAI said, definitely link to mobile
Now once again UIDAI has suggested a way to make Aadhaar secure through a tweet. UIDAI says that the mobile number of the user should be linked with Aadhaar. This is very important for the security of the base. In the tweet, UIDAI has written, “Always keep your mobile number updated in Aadhaar. If you have any doubts regarding the mobile number or e-mail linked with Aadhaar, you can verify the same at any time with the help of this link myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/verify-email-mobile.

UIDAI says that e-mail and mobile numbers linked with Aadhaar are very helpful in preventing fraud related to Aadhaar. Therefore, they should always be kept updated. This means that if you change your mobile number or e-mail, then they should also be changed in Aadhaar.

By verifying the mobile number and e-mail, you can check whether the mobile number and e-mail that you have linked with Aadhaar is linked with it or not. If you have two mobile numbers and you do not remember which number you have linked with Aadhaar, then you will be able to know which number is linked through the website.

Verify the mobile number and e-mail id like this

  1. First of all, go to http://www.uidai.gov.in.
  2. Now select any one of the options ‘Verify Email/Mobile Number’ in the ‘My Aadhaar’ tab.
  3. A new page will open. Here enter your Aadhaar number and enter your mobile number or email id, whichever you want to verify.
  4. After that enter the captcha code and click on ‘Send OTP’.
  5. If a mobile number is entered then OTP will come on it, if an email id is entered then OTP will come on mail.
  6. Now enter the OTP at the designated place.
  7. If the mobile number or email ID entered matches the UIDAI record, a message will be displayed on the screen to match the mobile number/email ID record.
