Aanchal Vohra’s house also burnt, badly injured

Corona increased financial bankruptcy, and Lebanon has come to the brink of bankruptcy. Lebanon is rapidly moving towards economic bankruptcy, fragmentation of institutions, high inflation and rapidly increasing poverty, and the epidemic has increased these problems. The crisis has increased the risk of Lebanese disintegration, which is set as the ideal model of diversity and reconciliation in Arabia and can lead to chaos.

Lebanon itself has created this problem
Lebanon has been a victim of regional rivalry due to 18 religious sects, weak central government, strong neighbors, which has to face political inertia, violence, or both. Lebanon has always been a victim of the battle for supremacy of Iran and Saudi Arabia, but the current problem is posed by Lebanon itself, which for decades has been caused by a corrupt and greedy political class that has hit every sector of the economy. Despite the highest public debt in the world, Lebanon remained insolvent for many years.

Marwan Muasher, vice president of Studies at Carnage Endowment for International Peace, said that one of the problems in Lebanon is that there has been a democratization of corruption. It is not only with a person sitting in the center. it is everywhere. Recently, at a conference of the Center for Global Policy, he said that each faction has a share in the economy over which it controls and earns money from it so that it can keep its faction happy.

It is noteworthy that the problem increased in late 2019 when the government expressed a desire to impose a tax on WhatsApp messages, which started a huge protest across the country. It is believed that it used ghee in the fire to come out openly against the people troubled by its leaders.
The protest lasted for about two weeks, after which protests began in the bank and then informally in capital-controlled institutions, which set a limit for the withdrawal or transfer of dollars.

Due to the lack of foreign exchange, the value of the Lebanese pound has fallen by 80 percent in the black market, and the price of basic goods and food and drink has increased wildly. Lebanon is expecting help from the World Monetary Fund, but despite negotiations lasting several months, no consensus has been reached.
