Hong Kong: Hong Kong on Wednesday banned the use of Pfizer’s anti-Covid-19 vaccine. The move was taken after distributor Fosun reported that the lid of a batch of vaccines had been damaged. According to a statement issued by the Hong Kong government, the use of these vaccines has been immediately stopped.
The German company ‘Bioentech’, which is making the anti-Covid-19 vaccine, along with the Chinese pharmaceutical company ‘Fosun Pharma’ and the US pharmaceutical company ‘Pfizer’, is investigating the case. According to the statement, ‘Bioentech’ and ‘Fosun Pharma’ have not found any evidence that the vaccine is not safe. However, the use of this vaccine has been prohibited as a precautionary measure.
According to the statement, the caps of the batch number-210202 have been found to be defective and batch number-210104 will also be examined. The ban on ‘Pfizer’ vaccines means that people here currently have the option of getting China-developed ‘Synovac’ vaccines.
