Key Points
- Attractive Pricing: The X-Edition is priced at Rs 87,733 (ex-showroom, Delhi), positioned between the Standard and H-Smart variants.
- Cyber-Drift Aesthetics: Features an exclusive Pearl Siren Blue and Pearl Deep Ground Grey dual-tone scheme with striking red alloy wheels.
- Modern Dashboard: Equipped with a 4.2-inch digital TFT instrument console, a significant upgrade over the standard analog-digital unit.
- Proven Performance: Retains the 123.92cc air-cooled engine producing 8.19 bhp and 10.5 Nm of torque.
Honda has expanded its 125cc scooter portfolio with the launch of the Dio 125 X-Edition on February 5, 2026. This new iteration focuses on aesthetic flair and “Cyber Drift” themes to appeal to Gen-Z consumers. Unlike the base model, the X-Edition stands out with its contrasting dark blue and silver body panels, further highlighted by bold “X-Edition” decals and vibrant red-painted alloy wheels, creating an energetic profile.
While the fundamental architecture remains identical to the existing Dio 125, the X-Edition is intended to bridge the gap for buyers who want the premium looks of the top-tier models without the higher price tag of the keyless H-Smart system.
Tech and Equipment Upgrades
The most significant interior update is the inclusion of the 4.2-inch TFT digital instrument cluster. While this display is borrowed from the H-Smart trim, in the X-Edition configuration, it primarily provides clear trip data, real-time mileage, and service reminders. It is important to note that, unlike the H-Smart variant, this version does not include Bluetooth smartphone connectivity or turn-by-turn navigation, which allows Honda to keep the price point competitive.
Other standard features carry over from the Dio 125 range, including:
- LED Lighting: A signature LED headlamp and tail lamp setup.
- Utility: A USB Type-C charging port located in the front glove box and an external fuel filler cap for convenience.
- Safety: A 190mm front disc brake paired with a rear drum, supported by Honda’s Combined Braking System (CBS).
Technical Continuity and Reliability
Under the hood, the Dio 125 X-Edition maintains the refined mechanical setup Honda is known for. The 123.92cc, single-cylinder engine is OBD-2B compliant and utilizes a CVT automatic transmission. With a kerb weight of just 105 kg and a 171 mm ground clearance, the scooter is specifically tuned for agile city commuting and handling heavy traffic with ease.
The launch of the X-Edition comes as part of a broader strategy by Honda to refresh its 125cc lineup, which also recently saw the introduction of the Shine 125 Limited Edition. Deliveries for the new Dio variant are expected to commence across dealerships by the second week of February 2026.
