
Windsor: Masked assailants attacked a Hindu temple on Wednesday in Windsor City of Ontario Province, Canada. The attackers vandalized the temple and wrote hate slogans on the walls. This whole incident has been captured in CCTV camera. The police is looking for two suspects. The investigation of this incident has been started by the local police.
In a statement, Windsor police said, “On April 5, 2023, officers were dispatched to a Hindu temple in the 1700 block of Northway Avenue following reports of hate-motivated vandalism. Authorities found anti-Hindu and anti-India slogans written in black paint on the exterior wall of the building. The vandalism at the Hindu temple is being investigated as a hate incident.
In the initial investigation, officers obtained a video in which two suspects were seen in the area just after 12 midnight. Windsor police said in a statement, “In the video, one suspect is seen vandalizing the wall of a building while the other is watching over him.
Police said that, at the time of the incident, a suspect was wearing a black sweater, black pants with a small white logo on the left leg, and black and white high-top running shoes. The second suspect was wearing black pants, a sweatshirt, black shoes, and white socks.
Windsor police called residents around Temple to watch their homes for evidence of suspects between 11 pm and 1 am (local time). Police have urged people with any information regarding the incident to call the Mortality Unit.
The Consulate General of India in Toronto condemned the incident in a tweet. The tweet said, “We strongly condemn the desecration of the Ram temple in Mississauga with anti-India graffiti. We have requested the Canadian authorities to investigate the incident and take prompt action against the culprits.

At the same time, the Ministry of External Affairs has condemned this incident, calling it unfortunate. The Ministry of External Affairs said, “We condemn this, it is a very unfortunate incident. We have taken it up with the Canadian authorities.
This is the fifth incident in Windsor where the temple has been vandalized. Earlier on February 14, anti-Hindu and anti-India slogans were written along with vandalism at the Ram temple in Mississauga. Whereas, in January, the Gauri Shankar Temple in Brampton, Canada, was defaced with anti-India graffiti, sparking outrage among the Indian community in Canada. At the same time, many idols were also broken in the Vishnu temple of Richmond.
