Kullu: Due to continuous heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh, there has been a loss of crores of rupees. Monsoon washed away five thousand crore rupees in a month itself. There has been heavy damage in Kullu district. Now the dam of Hydro Power Stage-2 in Malana of Kullu has been blocked. Due to the blockage, now water has started flowing from the top of the dam. Many residential areas have been evacuated due to the possibility of flood and dam breakage.

Let us inform you that on Monday, the gate of the dam was blocked with mud, sand, and stone. In such a situation, many residential areas on the banks of the Parvati River have been evacuated. On Monday, when the dam started overflowing, the administration issued an alert. On the other hand, due to heavy rains, there has been a flash flood in the Gadsa Valley of Kullu on Tuesday. There is information about damage to two to three houses. There was a flash flood in the Pancha drain of Gadsa Valley at 3 am on Tuesday.

DC Kullu Ashutosh Garg said that the Malana Hydro Power Stage-2 dam’s gate block has caused an overflow of water. He said that he has talked to the company management. They say that they are not able to operate due to a gate choke. He said that the amount of water in the dam is 30 cusecs. In such a situation, there is nothing to worry about. He said that in view of the possibility of a dam burst, the people of the downstream area have been evacuated. The Power Project Authority has been instructed to operate the gate soon so that there is no loss of life or property.

Meteorological Center Shimla has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain for Tuesday. The orange alert will remain for Wednesday and Thursday. The weather will remain bad in the state till July 30.
