Indore (MP): Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Wednesday night said that various steps are being taken, including the issuance of a buffer stock of one lakh tonnes, to relieve consumers from the rising inflation of onions. Tomar said that the Congress was opposing the new agricultural laws of the central government by doing “two-sided politics”. He said, “Congress had said in its manifesto during the last Lok Sabha elections in 2019 that it would free trade in the country, promote inter-state trade, abolish Agricultural Produce Marketing Committees (APMCs), contract farming. Will encourage and repeal the Essential Commodities Act. ” The Agriculture Minister said, “Congress could not do this because it is under pressure from brokers and middlemen. But the BJP-led central government showed by making new laws for agricultural reforms. That is why the stomach of the Congress is hurting now. ”
To a question, he said, “When the new agricultural laws of the Punjab government come to us, we will study them closely and take necessary steps in the interest of the farmers.” Tomar had reached Dharampuri to address an election rally in favor of BJP candidate and former Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat from his home state of Madhya Pradesh’s Sanwer assembly constituency. By-polls are to be held on November 3 in 28 assembly seats in the state, including Sanwer. Reacting to the use of words like “item” and “traitor” by the Congress leaders for the BJP leaders during the election campaign, the Agriculture Minister said, “Empty mind is the house of the devil. Congressmen have an empty mind, so they discuss this type of satanism. This is tarnishing the image of the Congress in the public. ”
He said, “After the last Lok Sabha elections, the Congress did not have enough status to become the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament. Now the ship of Congress is sinking in Madhya Pradesh also. Many Congress leaders are leaving the party and joining the BJP. ” When senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP of lying, Tomar said, “I want to ask Rahul Gandhi if his entire family has told a single truth in its history.”
