
New Delhi: Amid the furor over Corona vaccine prices, the central government has asked the Serum Institute and Bharat Biotech to reduce the price of their vaccines. The Serum Institute of India (SII) has stated that the price of Covid-19 vaccine ‘Covishield’ will be Rs 400 per dose for state governments and Rs 600 per dose for private hospitals. The CEO of the company also said that after the current contract of Rs 150 per dose is over, the rate will be Rs 400 per dose for the central government as well. What is the cost of covaxine?
Bharat Biotech has kept the price of covaxine for the state governments at Rs 600 per dose, while for private hospitals, the price per dose has been kept at Rs 1200. The company’s chairman Krishna M. Alla said in a statement that Bharat Biotech is giving the vaccine at a price of Rs 150 to the central government. For export, the company has kept the price of the vaccine between 15 to 20 dollars.

Which states announced free vaccination
According to recent reports, 17 states of the country have announced free vaccination for their people. These states include Madhya Pradesh, Jammu, and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Goa, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Sikkim, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Haryana.
