New Delhi: The Union Cabinet has approved six increases to the Pradhan Mantri Anna Yojana implemented in the country. The decision was taken in the meeting held on Saturday. Under which now the poor sections will continue to get free ration till 31 October 2022. It is to be known that, this scheme was to end on 31 May 2022. This was announced by the Prime Minister.

More than 80 crore people of the country will be able to avail benefits
PM Modi wrote in his tweet, the power of India is contained in the power of every citizen of the country. To further strengthen this power, the government has decided to continue the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana for another 6 months till September 2022. More than 80 crore people of the country will be able to take advantage of this as before.

It is to be known that during the Corona crisis, the Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana was announced by Prime Minister Modi in March 2020. The purpose of Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana was to remove the problems faced by the people during the corona epidemic. Initially, the scheme was launched for the period April-June 2020 but was later extended till November 30. After this, it was extended till 31 March 2022.

Who gets the benefit under this scheme and how much?
Now the question arises that under this scheme of the central government, who gets the benefit and how much. So, let us tell you that under this scheme of the central government, about 80 crore ration card holders of India are given 5 kg more food grains (wheat-rice) per member every month. Let us inform you that the citizen of the country who has a ration card available, is getting 5 kg additional ration every month under this scheme along with the ration of his quota. Under this scheme, free food grains will be available at the same ration shop from where it is available on the ration card.

Keep in mind that the benefit of free food grains under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana is not for those who do not have a ration card. This scheme is limited to ration cardholders, whose number is more than 80 crores in the country.
