Gwalior: In independent India, the fourth generation of the Scindia family is ready to walk the thorny path of politics. The pomp with which Mahaaryaman Scindia’s birthday was celebrated in the presence of BJP workers and dignitaries in Jaivilas Palace today indicates that the pre-scripted for Yuvraj’s entry into active politics has been written and these Scindia family’s members will be seen in the upcoming assembly elections. It will not be surprising if the spectacle is fielded from any assembly seat of Gwalior, Shivpuri, or Guna.
Since returning from abroad, Yuvraj usually celebrates his birthday in Delhi with his friends, but this time he chose his hometown Gwalior for his birthday party. Barring a few exceptions, usually, the members of the Scindia family choose the Lok Sabha route to enter politics, but breaking this convention, Mahaaryaman can start his political innings from the assembly elections. By the way, Yashodhara Raje of this family first contested the assembly and then the Lok Sabha elections. The special thing is that Mahaaryaman is not a primary or active member of the BJP or any other party till now.
He had met Gwalior BJP Sadar Kamal Makhijani at the birth anniversary celebrations of Rajmata Scindia and it is being speculated that Yuvraj may soon become a formal member of the BJP family. Although the project of Yuvraj’s entry into politics is still in the pipeline, the haste has also started looking for a seat for him. Some devout MLAs of the palace camp are also showing their eagerness to give up the seat for them in the upcoming elections. There has also been a comment from a BJP leader that the party’s doors are open to all, but the party decides whether to contest elections or give tickets and the formula of one family-one post is already in force in the party. But in view of the Scindia factor in the power equations of the state, the scope for convenient adjustment in the formula cannot be ruled out.
