Washington: Tulsi Gabbard, a former member of the US Parliament and the first Hindu American leader to run for the White House in 2020, has compared US President Joe Biden to Adolf Hitler, days after announcing his exit from the ruling Democratic Party. Gabbard, 41, who retired from the House of Representatives last year, made the remarks while campaigning for the November 8 midterm election.
Speaking at a Bolduc Town Hall event in a city outside Manchester on Sunday, the former Hawaii congressman said he found Biden and Hitler to have similar mindsets, according to The Daily Beast newspaper.
Last week, Gabbard announced she was leaving the Democratic Party. Gabbard was the first Hindu to be elected to the US House of Representatives from Hawaii in 2013 and was subsequently elected four times in a row.
