Tokyo: The moon lander of Japan’s private company ispace, which landed on the moon, has crashed. ISpace, the first company to take Japan’s moon lander to the moon, informed on Wednesday that their attempt had failed. This moon lander is known as Hakuto-R Mission 1. The company said that it had made every effort to land the moon lander on the lunar surface at night, but contact with the company was lost about 25 minutes after the landing. The company has promised that it will move forward with the new mission.
According to an AFP report, Hakuto-R flew at a speed of 6,000 kilometers per hour from an altitude of 100 kilometers above the lunar surface. On Tuesday, communication was disrupted during the landing. In a statement, iSpace said, “The company had previously believed that this lander would land on the lunar surface with great difficulty. The company said in a tweet that its engineers are trying to find out why the landing failed. ?
What is Hakuto-R Mission 1?
This lander of iSpace is more than 2 meters (6.5 feet) long and weighs 340 kilograms (750 pounds). Hakuto entered the Lunar Orbit last month. Rashid was carrying the rover to this lander. It was the first Arab-built lunar spacecraft, built by the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center in Dubai. It was launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida in December last year with a SpaceX Falcon-9 rocket. Its landing on the moon was fully automatic and communication was to be re-established as soon as it touched the lunar surface. So far, only the United States, Russia, and China have managed to send spacecraft to the surface of the Moon through government-sponsored programs. India also attempted to land a spacecraft on the Moon in 2016, but it crashed.
