Corona spreading rapidly in China

Shanghai: Shanghai, the largest city of China in terms of population, is facing a severe blow from Corona these days. Three people were confirmed dead here on Sunday. The local administration claims that this is the first death due to corona after the lockdown imposed in the city. However, questions have also been raised on the claim of ‘zero death’. It is being told that after the outbreak of corona infection in Wuhan in 2019, Shanghai has become the most infected city in China so far.

According to the news agency ANI, according to the Municipal Government of Shanghai, which has a population of 25 million, among those who died, there are two women and one man. The age of women was 89 and 91 years while that of men was 91 years. These people already had many diseases, including heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure. These people had not even got the corona vaccine. It was told that despite being admitted to the hospital, the condition kept getting serious. All efforts to save failed.

Earlier in mid-March, two deaths were confirmed in north-eastern Jilin province. He was said to be the first death from Corona in China in the last one year. However, questions have also been raised on such a small number of these deaths. A BBC report has claimed that at least 27 people have died within a week in the same hospital in Shanghai. None of them had got the vaccine.

Corona broken records in America

The Municipal Health Commission of Shanghai on Sunday informed about the receipt of 3238 confirmed cases of corona here during the last 24 hours. According to Xinhua News Agency, 21,582 cases without symptoms were found. In terms of numbers, this number may seem low, but China adopts a zero covid policy towards Corona. In such a situation, even after a slight increase in cases, very strictness is taken.

In view of the increase in corona cases in Shanghai, a strict lockdown has been imposed. Strict restrictions were imposed on people coming out of their homes. There are instructions to quarantine even if minor symptoms are seen. Still the cases are not over. The condition is that the space in the quarantine centers has reduced. Despite the arrangements made by the administration, there has been a crisis of supply of food, drink and medicines in front of the people in many places. Due to the strict restrictions of Zero Kovid policy, frustration is increasing among the people. Such videos are viral on social media, in which people are seen shouting from the windows of their houses and apartments.

The Omicron variant of Corona has worsened the situation not only in Shanghai, but also in all other cities of China. According to a report by CNN, complete or partial lockdown has been imposed in at least 44 cities of China. Since March 1, there have been 3 lakh 20 thousand Kovid case reports in 31 provinces of China.
