Dhauli river floods
The Dhauli river has flooded due to the glacier burst. After this, the news of the Rishiganga Tapovan Hydro Project is coming to an end. The water level of the rivers has also increased. THDC has also stopped releasing water from the Tehri Dam to reduce the flow of water in the river.

Alert issued in Rishikesh and Haridwar
After the disaster in Chamoli, Uttarakhand, the government has started relief and rescue work. Administrative officials are providing all possible help at ground zero to help people in difficult situations. An alert has been issued in many states about its effect. An alert has been issued from Chamoli to Rishikesh and Haridwar. In Chamoli and Haridwar, people living on the banks of the river have been directed to be removed from there.

Three teams of NDRF have been sent from Dehradun and three additional teams will reach there by evening with the help of an Air Force helicopter. NDAF teams have left for rescue work. Every possible help will be provided to Devbhoomi.

The Home Minister said, ‘Some more teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are being sent by air from Delhi to Uttarakhand. We are constantly monitoring the situation there.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also said on Sunday that he is constantly monitoring the situation arising due to flash floods in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district due to the breaking of the iceberg and is in touch with the concerned senior officials for rescue and relief operations.

PM Modi tweeted, ‘The unfortunate situation of Uttarakhand is being constantly monitored. India is with Uttarakhand and the nation is praying for the safety of all. He said, I am constantly talking to senior officials about the relief and rescue operations, deployment of National Disaster Response Force.

Significantly, the snowfall in the Rishiganga Valley in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand on Sunday caused a sudden severe flood in Alaknanda and its tributaries. Riddhim Agarwal, DIG of the State Disaster Response Force, said that more than 150 workers working in the Rishiganga energy project were probably directly affected by this natural disaster. He said, “The representatives of the energy project have told me that they are not in contact with the 150 workers present at the project site.”
