New Delhi: Even after the departure of the Southwest Monsoon, the rain did not take a break across the country. Clouds rained heavily from plains to hilly areas and it rained so much in October that the record of the last ten years was broken. If we look at the figures, since the beginning of the month of October, the rainfall till now is 60 percent more than the monthly rainfall. In the last ten years, it has not rained as much in the month of October as it has rained in October of 2022.

Scientists of private weather forecasting agency Skymet say that even after the official end of the Southwest Monsoon, rains have not stopped across India. In fact, in the first ten days, there was very heavy rain in many parts of the country, especially in the northern parts. However, now the rain activities have reduced to a great extent.

Even so, the agency says rainfall remains surplus, with monthly rainfall over 60 percent between October 1 and 26. The country has recorded 109.2 mm of rain as against 68.3 mm. In today’s situation, October is the month with the most rainfall in the last ten years. The last time such heavy rains occurred in the country was in the year 2019 when the surplus was 45 percent.

Rains

According to agency scientists, we do not expect anything significant in the rest of October. Most of the rain will fall over the southern parts and the Northeast Monsoon will make its appearance by the end of the month. Moderate rain is expected only around October 31.
