Srinagar: An encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists on the outskirts of Srinagar city in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. There is news of one terrorist being killed in this encounter. Security forces cordoned off and launched a search operation after receiving inputs about the presence of militants in Nowgam area of the city, a police official said.
During this, the terrorists started firing on the security forces, after which the forces also retaliated and the encounter started, he said. After which a terrorist was killed in retaliatory action. The encounter has been confirmed by the police of Kashmir Zone itself.
It should be noted that a terrorist has been killed in this encounter. Simultaneously, the police and security forces have surrounded the entire area and firing is going on from both sides. As per reports, the encounter is still going on and the details are awaited. Earlier, a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist Owais Raja was killed in an encounter between security forces and terrorists. During this, a huge amount of ammunition was recovered from him.
