New Delhi: Former President Donald Trump appeared in court on Wednesday in a criminal case related to overturning the 2020 election results of America. According to the news of CNN, during this time he termed the allegations made as false and baseless. Trump said that he is innocent, after which the court of Judge Moxila Upadhyay fixed the date of August 28 for further proceedings in the present case. On the next date, there will be a hearing on this before District Judge Tania Chutkan at 10 am.

Earlier, it was said on behalf of public prosecutor Thomas Windum that he is ready for further hearing on any date given by the court but does not want the date to be too long. Trump’s legal team requested the date of August 28 out of the three options given, which was accepted. The judge said, “To the extent you are unable to appear due to your schedule, I have consulted Justice Chutkan and he is ready to grant exemption from your appearance.”

Trump was exempted from an appearance on this condition
The office of special counsel Jack Smith did not seek custody of Donald Trump. According to CNN’s report, the former President will be released on the very minimum conditions of release, which include not talking to the witness in the case and not influencing them. After which Trump stood up and raised his right hand and took an oath to abide by the conditions of release.
