
Ujjain: Mahakal played Holi fiercely with the devotees in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. Baba Mahakal was wonderfully adorned with gulal of different colors. Devotees were not able to play Holi with Lord Mahakal for 2 years due to the Corona period. The devotees took out the entire effort of these two years and with Baba Mahakal, they blew the colors of Holi and celebrated the festival with great pomp.
Let us tell you, although the festival of Holi starts a day before in Ujjain Mahakaleshwar temple, from the early hours of Friday, different colors started spreading here. In the Bhasma Aarti to be held at 4 o’clock in the morning, Pandey-priests bathed with curd-milk-honey-water performed Panchamrit and anointed Lord Mahakal. After this, Lord Mahakal was adorned with different abirs. Devotees from different states reached Mahakaleshwar temple to play Holi with Baba Mahakal.
Devotees made a booking two days ago
It is worth mentioning that to play Holi with Lord Mahakal, devotees had taken permission for Bhasma Aarti two days ago. After the Bhasma Aarti, everyone offered various types of Bhog to Lord Mahakal. From late Thursday night, crowds of devotees started thronging the temple. People had brought many colors along with the offerings. There was only hope in the minds of people that somehow Baba Mahakal should have darshan and they would take his blessings by playing Holi with him.
The increasing number of devotees
Let us tell you, the number of devotees of Baba Mahakal is increasing continuously. In view of this, the expansion of the Mahakaleshwar temple is also being done. Various development works are being done here. Now a new food zone is also being built in the Mahakal temple. It will be ready for 8 crore rupees. It is being built by an industrialist from Indore. Bhoomi pooja will be done for the food sector on the day of Makar Sankranti.

The expansion work of the Mahakal temple is also going on. All facilities are being expanded from parking to entrance and devotees. A new food area is being built in the temple premises for the devotees coming to visit Mahakal so that more and more people can sit here and take prasad with more convenience.
