Bengaluru: Chennai Super Kings, who have won the IPL title four times, are in discussion these days. A legislator of Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK), a political party in Tamil Nadu, has demanded the state government ban this franchise. The fans of CSK have been blown away by this news. This news has now spread like fire everywhere.
Actually, PMK MLA SP Venkateshwaran (SP Venkateshwaran) has demanded the Tamil Nadu government ban Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He alleged that the IPL franchise does not have any local players (Tamil players), so this team should be banned.
On Tuesday, the MLA mentioned this during the demands for grants of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department in the Vidhansabha. After this, while talking to the media, the MLA said that he has only talked about public sentiment in the assembly. Because there is no Tamil player on this team, therefore this team should be banned.
He said many youngsters are watching IPL with great interest. Chennai is the capital of Tamil Nadu. Our leader Ayya (Dr. Ramadoss) has started the In Search of Tamil campaign to raise awareness among the youth about the importance of protecting the Tamil language. Lots of people have contacted me saying they are hurt that despite having Chennai as part of their team name, it doesn’t provide opportunities for our talented homegrown players and hence should be banned Needed
Talking to the media, he further said, “I represented the sentiments of the people in the assembly today itself. They are making a profit from our people as they represent Tamil Nadu but Tamil Nadu players are not there (in the team). I want more people from our state to be a part of the CSK team. After this statement of PMK MLA, there has been a ruckus on social media. CSK fans are fiercely criticizing the MLA.
