New Delhi: To commemorate the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, a “Seva Pakhwada” or service fortnight is being launched in Delhi, featuring 75 new development schemes and initiatives. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to inaugurate 15 of these projects at a ceremony at Thyagaraj Stadium on Wednesday.

The fortnight’s activities will also include a “Thank You Modi Ji” program on the Kartavya Path, which involves a Seva Sankalp Padyatra (pledge march), a blood donation camp, and an exhibition. The camp, organized near India Gate, aims to collect 1,000 units of blood. The accompanying exhibition will showcase the key development initiatives undertaken by the Modi government.

Key Schemes and Facilities for Delhiites

The projects being launched cover a wide range of sectors, from healthcare and social welfare to urban infrastructure. Delhi BJP leader Rekha Gupta stated that the “Seva Pakhwada” is a crucial initiative to make the capital a truly “Developed Delhi,” with projects worth crores of rupees benefiting every section of society.

Here is a breakdown of the major schemes being launched:

  • Healthcare: New blocks will be inaugurated at Guru Gobind Singh Hospital, Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, Acharya Shri Bhikshu Hospital, Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital, and Shri Dada Dev Hospital. Additionally, 150 new dialysis machines will be made available in Burari, and 101 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs will be opened.
  • Social Welfare: The government will launch 50,000 new pension schemes for senior citizens. A significant initiative will provide financial assistance of ₹6,000 per month to persons with disabilities. Furthermore, 10 special resource centers for children with disabilities, a new hostel for visually impaired girl students in Timarpur, and a Savitribai Phule Old Age Home in Paschim Vihar will be established.
  • Urban Infrastructure and Security: Delhi Police will be equipped with 75 modern drones to enhance surveillance and security operations. The fire department will receive 24 new quick-response vehicles. To address waste management, the foundation stones for two new waste-to-energy (WTE) plants will also be laid in the capital.
