New Delhi: As Delhi gears up for its assembly elections, political campaigns are in full swing, with leaders striving to present their vision for the capital’s future. On Saturday, Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah launched the third part of BJP’s election manifesto, ‘Sankalp Patra 3.0,’ which promises transformative initiatives for Delhi’s residents.

Shah not only highlighted BJP’s ambitious plans but also launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, calling him “the biggest liar” he had encountered in politics.

Big Promises in Sankalp Patra 3.0

The BJP manifesto unveiled several promises aimed at addressing Delhi’s key issues and boosting development:

  1. 50,000 Government Jobs: To tackle unemployment, BJP plans to provide 50,000 government jobs across various sectors.
  2. Mahabharata Corridor: A cultural mega-project to celebrate India’s heritage, the Mahabharata Corridor is expected to attract tourism and boost Delhi’s economy.
  3. Yamuna River Cleanup and Development: BJP pledged to clean the Yamuna River within three years and develop a modern riverfront similar to Gujarat’s Sabarmati Riverfront. Amit Shah challenged Kejriwal, asking if he would dare to take a dip in the Yamuna before its cleanup.
  4. Full Ownership for Unauthorized Colonies: Residents of over 1,700 unauthorized colonies and Pakistani refugee colonies will be granted full ownership rights, ending their long wait for stability.
  5. Relief for Sealed Shops: BJP promises to reopen 13,000 sealed shops, providing relief to small business owners and boosting local commerce.

Focus on Gig Workers

One of the standout announcements in Sankalp Patra 3.0 is BJP’s promise to support gig workers, a large and often overlooked segment of Delhi’s workforce. A welfare board will be established to provide life insurance and accident coverage of ₹5 lakh each. This initiative is expected to benefit thousands of delivery executives, drivers, and other gig workers across the city.

Targeting the Yamuna Riverfront

BJP’s plan to clean and develop the Yamuna Riverfront is among its most ambitious projects. Modeled after Ahmedabad’s successful Sabarmati Riverfront, the project aims to transform the polluted Yamuna into a vibrant hub of recreation and tourism. Shah remarked, “In three years, I invite Kejriwal and his family to take a dip in the Yamuna after we clean it.”

Boosting Public Transportation

To modernize Delhi’s public transport, the BJP has pledged to convert 13,000 buses into electric buses (e-buses). This step aligns with India’s broader push for sustainable and eco-friendly transportation.

BJP’s Vision for Delhi

The Sankalp Patra 3.0 builds upon BJP’s previous promises, emphasizing employment generation, cultural revival, urban development, and social welfare. Shah underscored the party’s commitment to creating a “better and brighter future” for Delhi.

A Heated Campaign

Amit Shah’s direct attack on Arvind Kejriwal added fuel to the already intense election campaign. Shah accused Kejriwal of making false promises and failing to deliver on critical issues, urging Delhiites to vote for “real development” under BJP’s leadership.

With just days left for the Delhi Assembly elections, BJP’s Sankalp Patra 3.0 sets the stage for a high-stakes political battle. The manifesto’s bold promises, coupled with Amit Shah’s sharp criticism of the AAP government, aim to position BJP as the party of progress and accountability.

As Delhi voters weigh their choices, the city stands at a crossroads between continuity and change. Will BJP’s ambitious plans resonate with the electorate, or will AAP retain its stronghold? Only time will tell.
