New Delhi: On the day of Republic Day, the main accused of violence in the Tractor Rally and the waving of a religious flag at the Red Fort, Deep Sidhu is being reported as missing. According to media reports, actor-turned-activist Deep Sidhu has disappeared from the front of police and farmer leaders.
On Wednesday, two videos of Sidhu were revealed, in which he is seen running away from a motorbike. United Kisan Morcha (SKM) officials are presenting Sidhu as the villain. Even the agents of RSS are calling him. On 10 December, Sidhu advocated moving away from the ‘yes or no’ stance of the farmers unions and said that the path of political diplomacy should not be closed.
Sidhu appeared in the public eye after the video went viral
Sidhu came into the public eye when the farmers’ movement was gaining momentum a few months ago. In the first week of October, he started a front on the border between Punjab and Haryana – Shambhu Barrier in Patiala. After this, some videos went viral, after which his fans became on social media. Many of these supporters are standing with Sidhu even after Tuesday’s incident. He says that Sidhu is being made a scapegoat by media and farmers’ unions.
There was always some tension between Sidhu and the unions. It seems that in the last two months this tension has not decreased but increased. On 10 December, in a Facebook Live, Sidhu accused the ‘communist unions’ of working on the agenda of advancing left politics through it. However, after being trolled, he apologized the next day. At that time, he was accused of weakening the movement.
