Cyclone Asani is coming to the Bay of Bengal

New Delhi: Cyclone Asni may hit the Bay of Bengal next week. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that a low-pressure area over the southwest Indian Ocean may intensify into a severe cyclonic storm early next week. According to the forecasts of the Meteorological Department, this cyclone will later move towards Bangladesh and adjoining northern Myanmar. According to IMD, the current Low-Pressure Area (LPA) formed on Tuesday and it is likely to move in an east-northwest direction till Saturday. After this, it will move towards Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The Meteorological Department has said that the low-pressure area that has formed is very likely to turn into a cyclonic storm on March 21, which will move towards north and northeast on March 22. If this cyclone takes the form of a storm, then its name will be Asani. According to the rules, this cyclonic storm has been given the name Asani by Sri Lanka.

Fishermen were advised to stay off the coast
The Meteorological Department has said that after showing effect in the north and north-east directions, this cyclonic storm will reach the northern end of Bangladesh and Myanmar on 23 March. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of intensifying sea movement in the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining the south Andaman Sea on Thursday and Friday. Therefore, while issuing a warning, the Meteorological Department has advised fishermen not to go fishing in the southern part and adjoining areas of the Bay of Bengal next Wednesday and in the southeast Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea next Thursday and Friday.

Wind speed can be 90 km!
The Meteorological Department has also advised not to travel from the Andaman Sea to Andaman and Nicobar Islands between Saturday and Tuesday. Strong winds are expected in Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Sunday. According to the Meteorological Department, the wind speed can be 70 to 80 kilometers per hour on this day, which can reach 90 kilometers per hour the next day. However, the Meteorological Department did not say how dangerous it can be if cyclonic conditions turn into a storm.
