Country’s cheapest Tiago EV created record, Tata’s car is fulfilling people’s dreams

New Delhi: Tata Motors has recently launched the new Tiago EV in India at an initial price of Rs 8.49 lakh ex-showroom. It is currently the cheapest electric car in the Indian market. According to the company, the Tiago EV has already received over 20,000 bookings and of these, around 25 percent are from first-time buyers. This electric car is currently available in 170 cities in the country.

Bookings for the Tiago EV began in September this year and the introductory price was initially valid for the first 10,000 customers. Later the company extended this offer to 20,000 buyers. According to media reports, the company has recently revealed that the Tio EV has crossed 20,000 bookings and of these, around 25 percent are first-time buyers, which is surprisingly high.

Electric car range and power
The new electrified Tiago gets two different battery pack options. It is powered by a 19.2 kWh unit battery pack, with which the electric car gets power out of 60 bhp and a range of up to 250 km. The second is a bigger battery pack, with which the EV gets a power output of 74 Bhp and a driving range of 310 km on a single charge. It can be charged with a fast charger within an hour, while normal charging can take up to 8.7 hours.

Will the price increase from next month?
The Tata Tiago EV has currently priced between Rs 8.49 lakh to Rs 11.49 lakh ex-showroom. However, its prices will increase from January 2023 by around Rs 35,000 to Rs 45,000 depending on the variant. The Tiago EV does not have any direct rivals in India and its deliveries will start next month.

The car comes with 4-star safety
Tata bets big on safety and has achieved a 5-star safety rating for Tata Punch, Tata Nexon, and Altroz. The Tiago EV is also not far behind as the electric car has achieved a 4-star Global NCAP safety rating. The Tiago EV gets front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse camera with dynamic guidelines, i-TMPS, and IP67-rated battery pack and motor.
