Corona havoc in Mumbai, records 9090 new cases of infection in 24 hours

New Delhi: Coronavirus infection is continuously increasing in the country’s financial capital Mumbai. According to BMC, till 6 pm on April 3, 9090 new cases have come to the city, while 27 people have died due to infection. These are the highest number of cases in a day since the onset of the epidemic. According to the information given by BMC, 5,322 people in Mumbai have recovered from receiving treatment for infection on Saturday. Talking about the total test done on Saturday, this number is 43,597. According to BMC, the recovery rate in the Mumbai district is 83 percent. In Mumbai, the pace of doubling of infection cases is 44 days.

8832 cases came on Friday
Earlier on Friday, 8832 cases of Covid-19 were reported in Mumbai. A day earlier, there were 8646 cases of infection in the city. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said that 20 patients died on Friday, the highest number since December 2020. In Mumbai, the number of infected has increased to 4,32,192 while 11,724 people have died so far.

Earlier, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said on Friday that if the “worrisome situation” of the Maharashtra coronavirus persists, there could soon be a shortage of health facilities in the state. Addressing the people of the state on social media, Thackeray said that strict curbs will be imposed in one or two days to prevent cases of Covid-19. He said, “If the current situation continues, I cannot rule out the possibility of a lockdown.”


The Health system may get worse in Maharashtra

He said, “We will increase the number of beds with the availability of beds, ventilators, and oxygen, but what about health professionals? Where will we get more health workers? In the past year, most health workers have been exposed to Covid-19. “So far 65 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine have been given.” Three lakh doses were given on Thursday. “The Chief Minister said that some people are getting infected even after vaccination because they are not wearing masks.”

Thackeray said that people should follow the rules regarding Covid-19. He said, “The state government wants to protect the livelihood and economy of the poor, but we also want to save people’s lives.”

The Chief Minister also appealed to the political parties not to politicize the situation of the epidemic.
