Jerusalem: Israel’s Health Ministry said that the daily cases have set a new record due to the spread of the delta variant of the coronavirus in the country. 10,947 new cases of Covid-19 have been registered in Israel on Monday. Schools are to be opened only after two days to which 2.4 million students are expected to go.
On January 18 this year, 10,118 new cases of infection were reported in the country. Israel is among the countries with the most rapid vaccination. The third incremental dose of the anti-Covid vaccine is being administered to the eligible population in the country. It is mandatory to apply masks only in closed places. However, the government has promised to implement security measures in a better way.
About 60 lakh people out of the country’s 93 lakh population have been given at least one dose of Pfizer vaccine. About 22 lakh people have also been given the third dose of the vaccine.
