Comedian Raju Srivastava dies, fought for 41 days in AIIMS

Delhi: Famous comedian Raju Srivastava passed away in AIIMS, Delhi. He was admitted to AIIMS on August 10 after suffering a heart attack. 58-year-old Raju Srivastava was fighting for life and death for the last 41 days. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has condoled the death of Raju Srivastava. Raju Srivastava was a resident of Kanpur and was also the chairman of the UP Film Development Council.

His brother Deepu Srivastava has given this information. Raju was 58 years old and was admitted to AIIMS for 41 days. According to the information received from the sources, his last rites can be held in Delhi tomorrow i.e. on Thursday.

Deepu Srivastava’s brother told me that about half an hour ago, the family members called me and informed me about his passing. He was hospitalized for more than 40 days. According to official sources in the hospital, Raju Srivastava was declared dead at around 10.20 am. Raju Srivastava, who has been active in the entertainment industry since the late 1980s, gained immense popularity after participating in the first season of the stand-up comedy show ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ in 2005.

He acted in films like ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, ‘Baazigar’, ‘Bombay to Goa’ (remake), and ‘Aamdani Athani Kharsha Rupaiya’. He was seen in ‘Bigg Boss’ season three. He was also the President of the Uttar Pradesh Film Development Council.

According to the information received from AIIMS, Raju Srivastava breathed his last at 10.20 am today. On the death of Raju Srivastava, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, SP President Akhilesh Yadav MP Ravi Kishan, and many politicians and film personalities have expressed deep grief. Raju Srivastava came out of a city like Kanpur and established his feet in Bollywood and he was considered the king of standup comedy. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has described his death as an irreparable loss.

Born on 25 December 1963 in Kanpur, Raju Srivastava was working in the world of comedy since 1993. He also worked with artists like Kalyanji Anandji, Bappi Lahiri, and Nitin Mukesh. He was known for his skillful mimicry. His real success came from the Great Indian Laughter Challenge. Due to his amazing performance in this show, he came on everyone’s tongue from house to house. His character of Gajodhar also became quite famous.
