CM Gehlot launches digital COVID relief concert series for folk artists

Jaipur: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Sunday inaugurated the ‘Padharo Mhare Des’ digital COVID relief concert series to support the state’s folk artists. According to an official release, the series is an initiative by Manesha A. Agarwal’s Arpan Foundation to support folk artists. On the occasion, the Chief Minister said that this initiative would support the artist community deprived of regular livelihood for many months.

At the same time, “folk artists are totally dependent on their art for their livelihood. It is a unique concept to support such folk artists during the Coronavirus crisis. Such an initiative can play an important role in the development of art forms in the state and promote virtual tourism. ”

Many famous artists like Manesha Ram and group – Meghwalon of Jaisalmer, Dapu Khan Mirasi of fame of ‘Moomal’, Bundu Khan and band – Langas of Jodhpur, Thanu Khan and Tarif Khan of Chauma Mama project, Sugani Devi – Sensation of singing Kalbelia – Jodhpur, and Mehboob Khan Langada, among others, are participating in the concert series.

Agarwal, founder of Arpan Foundation, said, “We are very grateful to CM Gehlot for supporting this initiative. He has always supported the art and culture of the state and his support is encouraging for folk artists and for us. ” The series ‘Padharo Mhare Des’ will feature 70 folk artists from Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Barmer.
