Guwahati: The border dispute in the northeastern states of Assam and Mizoram is deepening. The ongoing dispute in the last one month is now turning into a conflict. On Monday, there has been a clash between the Assam Police and the villagers located on the border. The police have accused the people of assault. Six Assam Police personnel have died in the attack by villagers. The Chief Ministers of both the states have come face to face on this conflict. Along with this, both have complained to each other to Home Minister Amit Shah.
Put a stop to the struggle
Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthang has urged Home Minister Amit Shah to stop the ongoing conflict on the borders of the states. He tweeted, “Amit Shah Ji….Please look into the matter. This needs to be stopped from now on.”
After this, he released a video. In which two people were sitting in one tax. And the car was completely shattered. Glasses, headlights, taillights are seen completely broken. With this, he wrote, “Thugs and goons beat up an innocent couple returning to Mizoram via Cachar. How are you going to justify these violent acts?”
Sarma replied to Mizoram CM’s tweet
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma replied to Mizoram Chief Minister’s tweet. He tweeted, “Honorable Zoramthanga ji can you please investigate why the citizens of Mizoram are trying to incite violence with sticks and sticks? We urge citizens not to take law and order into their own hands and allow peaceful dialogue between governments.”
Sarma further said, “The SP of Kolasib (Mizoram) is asking us to step down, till then his citizens will not listen or stop the violence. How can we run the government in such circumstances? Hope you will intervene at the earliest.”
Mizoram’s miscreants stone-pelting and attack on officials
Assam Police has reacted to the video shared by Mizoram CM Zoramthanga. Issuing a statement, the department said, “It is unfortunate that the miscreants of Mizoram are involved in stone-pelting and attack on the Assam government officials posted at Lailapur to protect the land of Assam from encroachment.”
