Dubai: The United Arab Emirates announced on Tuesday that it will give booster doses to those who had vaccine six months after their initial two-dose regimen. The UAE is the first country in the world to formally introduce booster doses after China’s vaccine. In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), some people got vaccinated, but they did not have enough antibodies. In between all this, Saudi will give a booster dose.
China’s top disease control officer admitted last month that its vaccines provide less protection against the virus. After which questions have started coming up on the Chinese vaccine. The Sinopharm vaccine is the mainstay of the United Arab Emirates vaccination campaign. However, after the announcement of the booster dose, it is believed that the Chinese vaccine is ‘ineffective’.
The Chinese manufacturer has released very little public data about the Sinoform vaccine. In such a situation, people are questioning the Chinese claims. Earlier this month, the World Health Organization approved the use of Sinopharm Shot in an emergency. Several governments, including Seychelles, an island nation in Hungary, Pakistan, Serbia, and the Indian Ocean, are already using Sinopharm.

Dubai is preparing to host the World Expo
In March this year, the United Arab Emirates became the first country in the world to produce its local version of the Sinoform vaccine. The UAE government is preparing to host the much-awaited World Expo in Dubai this year in October through vaccination. About 25 million people are expected to attend it. Emirates Health Spokesperson Dr. Farida Al-Hosani said, “Booster doses have been provided to citizens who have installed people’s Sinoform vaccine to provide maximum security.”
On the other hand, Chinese officials did not immediately comment on Saudi’s decision to expand the booster dose extensively. Earlier this month, health officials in Bahrain reported that a booster dose would be available soon after Sinoform. Bahrain has claimed that through this it wants to increase herd immunity.
