New Delhi: Arunachal Pradesh MP Tapir Gao on Wednesday said that the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China has kidnapped a 17-year-old teenager from the Upper Siang district of Indian territory in the state. Gao said the kidnapped teen has been identified as Miram Taron. He said that the Chinese army kidnapped the teenager from the Lungta Jor area of the Seungla area.
The MP told PTI over the phone from Ziro, the district headquarters of Lower Subansiri district, that Johnny Yiying, Taron’s friend, who had managed to escape from the PLA, informed the local authorities about the abduction. He told that both the teenagers are residents of Jido village.
The MP said the incident took place near the place where the Shiang river enters India in Arunachal Pradesh. Earlier on Tuesday, Gao shared information about the kidnapping of the teen in a tweet.
He shared the picture of the kidnapped juvenile along with the tweet and said, “Request to all agencies of the Government of India to ensure the early release of the juvenile.” Gao also said that he has informed the Union Minister of State for Home Nishith Pramanik about the incident.
