On the increase in the defense budget, NPC spokesman Zhang Yesui told reporters here that China’s effort is to strengthen national defense, not to target or pose any threat to any country. China’s economy grew at a rate of 2.3 percent in 2020, the lowest annual economic growth rate in the past 45 years. The Corona virus epidemic had an impact on China’s economy last year, but it was able to overcome it soon.
