Beijing: China has decided to increase defense spending amid the ongoing tension with India on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). China has made this big announcement regarding defense on Saturday. The special thing is that China is continuously increasing its expenditure in the defense sector. Due to which a strong army has been prepared with the country, this army is challenging the armed forces of America in the Indo-Pacific region. Parliament session in China has started from Friday.
According to the AP, China has announced a 7.1 percent increase in defense sector spending to $ 22900 million for the year 2022. In the last year, China increased spending by 6.8 percent. However, for some time, China has been continuously increasing its military capability. There were also reports on the Line of Actual Control that China has increased military activities. In terms of the defense budget, China is second only to America.
The government says that most of the increase in expenditure will go for the welfare of the soldiers. Observers say that Chinese arms purchases have been omitted from the budget. Most of these are prepared domestically. Being the military wing of the ruling Communist Party, the political role of the People’s Liberation Army is also huge.

On the other hand, President Xi Jinping’s 10-year term is about to end this year and he is preparing to start an unprecedented third term. China’s annual parliament session began on Friday involving the national legislature, the National People’s Congress (NPC), and the advisory body Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).
The CPPCC began its session, which was attended by President Xi and other leaders. The CPPCC has 2,200 members, most of whom are nominated by the ruling Communist Party of China (CPC).
The NPC will perform annual legislative work for more than two weeks, including approving a work report to be submitted by Prime Minister Li Qing. In this, China will outline its annual economic performance and announce new defense outlays, among other economic initiatives to boost the economy.
