New Delhi: China has deployed about 60,000 soldiers in front of Indian territory in Ladakh. It has also continued to build up its infrastructure to help in faster movement of its forces along the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Government sources gave this information to news agency ANI.
Sources said that the number of Chinese soldiers had increased significantly. In the summer, a large number of soldiers were brought to the border for training. The Chinese soldiers have now returned to their previous places. However, China has now deployed around 60,000 troops in areas opposite Ladakh.
According to sources, China has continued to build the infrastructure. In such a situation, there is a possibility of danger from the Chinese side. China is building new roads in front of the Daulat Beg Oldi area and near the Pangong Lake area. In view of the Chinese activities, the Indian side has also taken very strong steps to ensure that any possible misadventure on the part of the Chinese side.
Sources said that the Anti-Terrorism Squad of Rashtriya Rifles has been deployed in the Ladakh Theater of the Eastern Front to respond to any provocation by China. At the same time, India is building infrastructure. Apart from this, the Indian Army is keeping all the mountain passes open to deposit soldiers in time of need at any tense point.
Sources said that the Indian side is in a position to keep an eye on only one or two places with Chinese troops. This is because at most places the two armies are separated by a buffer zone. Both sides are also deploying a large number of surveillance drones in the buffer zone to keep an eye on each other’s movement of troops. Sources said the winter deployment of Chinese troops is troubling them a lot. China is rapidly swapping troops on the front lines.
Sources said, during the first deployment of Chinese troops in extreme winters in high altitude locations, they used to swap their troops almost daily. He was in pain from cold-related injuries after the Chinese aggression that began in April-May last year. The Defense Ministry in its last review of the year said that unilateral and provocative actions by the Chinese to change the status quo through their military, in more than one area along the LAC, have responded as a sufficient measure.
Sources said that the armies of both countries are engaged in talks at various levels to resolve the issue. After sustained joint efforts, the forces have been withdrawn from several locations. In the areas over which the dispute continues, the number of troops on both sides is equal or has been increased substantially. The forces are being continuously mobilized as a result of threat assessment and internal consultations to ensure territorial integrity and to supplement the PLA forces and military infrastructure, taking into account the troop expansion.
While ensuring the integrity of India’s claims, troops continue to deal with Chinese troops in a firm and peaceful manner. Infrastructure up-gradation and development along the northern borders is being done in a holistic and comprehensive manner, including roads, all-weather tunnels, four strategic railway lines, additional bridges on the Brahmaputra, the critical Indo-China border roads.
