Beijing: China has once again done a new feat. A team of scientists from Sichuan University in southwest China has created a robotic fish that will eat microplastics. According to scientists, this fish can help a lot in cleaning the world’s polluted oceans. This robotic fish is only 1.3 centimeters (0.5 in).
“Our team aims to provide information to analyze microplastics accumulated in deep water and to analyze marine pollution in real-time,” said scientist Wang Yuan, one of the researchers who developed the robot. That’s why we have made such a light little robot. It can be used in many ways. For example, in a biomedical or dangerous operation, a small robot can be moved to a part of your body to help you eliminate a disease.
This black robot fish will work by light. The light will help him flap his wings and move his body. Scientists can control the fish by using light to avoid crashing into other fish or ships.
According to Wang, if it is accidentally eaten by some other fish, it can be digested without harm. Because it’s made of polyurethane, which is biocompatible. Fish will also be able to absorb pollutants and heal themselves when they are damaged. It can swim up to 2.76 body lengths per second compared to other robots.
