New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced several major changes in the education system for the next academic session, in line with the new education policy 2020. The CBSE Board Exam 2024 will see a shift from the traditional grading system to a more holistic and practical approach.
What are the changes in the CBSE Board Exam 2024?
- The CBSE Board Exam 2024 will not have any division or distinction for the students of classes 10th and 12th. The board will not calculate the percentage of marks or release any merit list for the students. The board believes that this will reduce the exam stress and pressure on the students and encourage them to focus on learning rather than competing.
- The CBSE Board Exam 2024 will have a new marking scheme for both theory and practical exams. The marks of theory, practical, project, and internal assessment will be divided into 100 marks for each subject. The board has implemented this new marking scheme for 83 subjects of class 10th and 121 subjects of class 12th. The board hopes that this will enhance the quality of education and assessment.

The board has clarified that if higher education institutes or employers want to know the percentage of marks of the students, then they will have to calculate the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) themselves. For this, they will use the grade points of the top 5 subjects of the students.
