Canada will help one million dollars in dealing with the epidemic in India

Ottawa: Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudo has said that his country will provide $ 10 million to India in dealing with the Covid-19 epidemic. Addressing the press conference, Trudeau said that Foreign Minister Mark Garno has spoken to his counterpart in India S Jaishankar about what kind of help Canada can provide. The Prime Minister said, “We are also ready to provide one million dollars to the Indian Red Cross through the Canada Red Cross.” He said that this would help in buying a range of equipment from ambulances to PPE.

About the talks between the foreign ministers of the two countries, Trudeau said, “We are in talks about how we can help.” He said, “Canada is very concerned about the kind of tragic and frightening pictures that are coming from India.” Earlier, Foreign Minister Garno said on Twitter that he spoke to his Indian counterpart Jaishankar about the situation created by Covid-19 and conveyed Canada’s solidarity towards the people of India.

There have been a record 3,60,960 new cases of corona virus infection in India after which the total number of infections has increased to 1,79,9,267. The death toll has crossed two lakhs after the death of 3,293 more people, according to data from the Union Health Ministry till Wednesday morning.
