At CES 2026, the world’s largest technology event, a product has emerged that has captured everyone’s attention. A company called Brolan has introduced the world’s first intelligent shoe-cleaning robot, called ClearX. This is no ordinary machine, but a smart robot that can wash, dry, and even sanitize shoes, all in one device.

In today’s world, where shoes are not just something to wear but have become a part of style and status, keeping them clean and well-maintained is a necessity for everyone.

Founder Emily Chen Presents ClearX Technology

According to a report by ces.tech, Brolan founder Emily Chen said, “My name is Emily Chen, and our company is called Brolan. Our product is called ClearX.” She further added, “We call ClearX the world’s first intelligent shoe-cleaning robot, which can clean, dry, and even sanitize shoes in a single machine.” The most remarkable feature is that while shoes typically take 1-2 days to dry after washing, ClearX washes and dries them instantly.

The Machine Cleans Automatically Based on the Material

The advanced sensors in ClearX identify the material and dirt on the shoes. The machine then automatically determines the best cleaning method. This ensures that no damage is done to any material, whether it’s sports shoes or expensive designer shoes. The intelligent system adapts its cleaning parameters based on fabric type, leather quality, and level of soiling, providing customized care for each pair.

Cleaning Without Chemicals and Detergents

The biggest advantage of this machine is that it doesn’t use any chemicals or detergents. According to Brolan, ClearX uses ‘micro-bubble technology’. Tiny bubbles penetrate the shoe material and burst, allowing the shoes to be thoroughly cleaned with just water. This eco-friendly approach not only protects shoe materials from harsh chemicals but also reduces environmental impact, making it sustainable for regular use.

Sanitization is User-Controlled

Cleaning starts automatically as soon as the shoes are placed in the machine. The user can decide whether or not to sanitize the shoes. Emily Chen explained, “Sanitization is optional. Not every shoe needs to be sanitized, so users can choose whether they want this step or not.” This feature uses UV-C light or other sanitizing methods to eliminate bacteria and odors, particularly useful for athletic footwear or shoes worn in contaminated environments.

Safe Drying with Low-Temperature Technology

ClearX uses low-temperature air to dry shoes. According to Emily Chen, “We use low-temperature drying for drying. This method is very gentle and fast for shoes.” The rapid drying system prevents material degradation that typically occurs during extended air-drying periods, preserving shoe structure and extending lifespan while enabling immediate wear after cleaning.

Separate Technology for Leather Shoes

The machine does not use water directly for leather shoes. Instead, a special roller is moistened to gently clean the shoes. The machine has two tanks, one for clean water and the other for dirty water. Each tank holds 40 liters of water, and cleaning one pair of shoes requires approximately 1 liter of water. This dual-tank system ensures clean water is always used for washing while contaminated water is separately collected, maintaining hygiene standards throughout the process.

What Will Be the Price?

ClearX is not currently available on the market. Brolan is preparing to launch it on Kickstarter in May. The estimated price is between $500 and $800 (approximately 72,000 rupees). The company is working on making it even more affordable in the future. This pricing positions ClearX as a premium home appliance targeting sneaker enthusiasts, professionals with expensive footwear collections, and households seeking convenient shoe maintenance solutions.
